The Vipava Valley

Vinogradi Vina Dornberg v Vipavski dolini

The Vipava Valley is one of Slovenia's most renowned wine-growing regions, known for its mild Mediterranean climate, abundant sunshine, and the distinctive bora wind. Its fertile flysch soils, combined with warm days and cool nights, create ideal conditions for producing high-quality grapes.

The bora wind plays a particularly important role in maintaining healthy vineyards, contributing to the freshness, minerality, and expressive aromas that characterize the region's wines. These unique natural conditions make it possible to cultivate both indigenous and international grape varieties, resulting in wines with rich flavors and a distinctive Vipava Valley character.

The Slejko family vineyards are located on the sunny, hilly, and marl-rich slopes of the Vipava Valley, where the quality of the grapes is strongly influenced by the area's exceptional natural conditions. The vineyards are situated at higher elevations, exposed to both abundant sunlight and the characteristic Vipava bora wind, which improves air circulation, reduces humidity, and promotes the healthy and balanced ripening of the grapes.

All of the vineyards are managed according to the principles of integrated viticulture, which is based on natural and sustainable grape production while maintaining the highest level of respect for both the environment and the vineyards.
